Care Instructions

Our Benni Barker bow ties are handmade with attention to detail and we want you and your dog to enjoy our products for the longest time possible so it's important to take care of them correctly. Wrinkles and creases on the bow ties will occur with normal wear. Please take the time to refer to the care instructions below based on collection and/or type of fabric to extend the life span of your bow tie.

For The BB Basics Collection made of Polyester Cotton:
Hand wash gently in warm water with mild laundry detergent, and let air-dry. To iron, set the iron to a low heat setting and aim the iron at the wrinkles and creases to smooth out the lines in the fabric. You may use a spray on starch to protect the bow tie from stains and give it a crisper look and feel.

For The Soirée Collection made of Satin Polyester:
Hand wash gently in warm water with mild laundry detergent, and let air-dry. To iron, set the iron to its lowest setting and aim the iron at the wrinkles and creases to smooth out the lines in the fabric. Steam iron at a low heat setting if preferred.

For The Fine Linen Collection:
Hand wash gently in cold or warm water with mild laundry detergent, and let air-dry. When ironing, aim the iron at the wrinkles and creases to smooth out the lines in the fabric. You may use a spray on starch to protect the linen from stains and give the bow tie a crisper look and feel. Use a steam iron or spritz the fabric with water and iron on medium heat setting.

For The Gingham Collection made of Chiffon Polyester:
Hand wash gently in cold or warm water with mild laundry detergent, and let air-dry. To iron, set the iron to a low heat or cool setting and aim the iron at the wrinkles and creases to smooth out the lines in the fabric. You may use a spray on starch to protect the bow tie from stains and give it a crisper look and feel.

For The Pin Dots Collection made from Cotton:
Hand wash gently in warm water with mild laundry detergent, and let air-dry. Cotton prints are known to fade with multiple washes so if possible, use a color safe laundry detergent. To iron, aim the iron at the wrinkles and creases to smooth out the lines in the fabric. You may use a spray on starch to protect the bow tie from stains and give it a crisper look and feel. Use a steam iron or spritz the fabric with water and iron on medium heat setting.
